Running the engine up to temperature for the first time.

Jim came around again today. He was able to track the performance of the engine with his computer and test to ensure that the fan and MIL were working OK. He also re-programmed the ECU again to ensure that we were getting the pulses from the ECU to the Tachometer OK.

First off fitting the silencers to prevent neighbours from getting too upset. Oh Yes – Much quieter (Or not!).

Just one thing to remember when you run the engine up to temperature – To connect the steam pipe to the coolant tank. Otherwise it emties onto the floor.

 

 

 

Coffee jar catch tank proved insufficient to catch the fluid once the temperature reached 98 degrees.

 

 

 

 

Good news is that the fan worked at 98 degrees and temperature gauge for the Oil worked fine aswell. Just got the clutch to fit now.

    Following your progress again with much interest Mark, your batteries are obviously charged up well after your travels! Enjoyed the “burbling roar”, must have been very satisfying. Good luck with clutch fit and gear change mods.
